HHC Engineers embraced the opportunity to contribute our expertise to the Eden project, an integral part of the prestigious $500 million development in Western Sydney's East Side Quarter. This stage encompasses 142 units distributed across four five-storey buildings, featuring one level of basement parking.

We successfully addressed the unique site challenges, including the implementation of temporary batters and the design of cantilevered and anchored shoring systems to ensure the project's stability during construction. In consideration of the weak upper subgrade materials, we designed foundation piles to reach the bedrock, establishing a solid foundation for the development.

HHC Engineers demonstrated our proficiency in meeting the structural demands of the Eden project. Our team expertly designed a reliable column frame structure to support the buildings, ensuring their structural integrity. Post- tensioned slabs were strategically employed from the podium level and above, providing optimal strength and efficiency. In addition, carefully placed expansion joints were integrated to accommodate the movement of the individual buildings.

We also incorporated internal suspended roads over the basement seamlessly integrated with the basement leisure center that boasts below-ground swimming pools and spas. The basement openings were designed to accommodate the future stage construction, allowing for connectivity and smooth progress throughout the development.

Through our diligent management of the site works and structural challenges, HHC Engineers is playing a pivotal role in the success of the Eden project.
