Located in Caringbah, this development features two buildings spanning eight storeys with two basements, accommodating 130 residential units as well as Coles and Liquorland outlets. Throughout the project, our team successfully addressed various site works and structural challenges to ensure a successful outcome.

HHC Engineers tackled significant site works challenges during the construction of the Caringbah project. This included conducting a comprehensive structural report to satisfy Sydney Trains requirements. Additionally, major stormwater culvert and sewer diversion works were meticulously managed to ensure proper integration and functionality. The design incorporated an anchored and internally braced shoring system, providing stability and structural integrity. To accommodate Coles' operation during the construction phase, a 2-stage shoring and excavation approach was implemented. Partial top-down construction methods were utilized to facilitate the initial substation commissioning. The project also involved the construction of a structural derailment wall, enhancing safety measures.

HHC Engineers excelled in meeting the structural demands of the Caringbah project. A column frame structure was skillfully designed, providing stability and flexibility for the buildings. The project involved the use of banded metal deck and post-tension basement slabs to ensure durability and optimal load-bearing capacity. Post-tension suspended slabs were strategically employed throughout the structure, optimizing efficiency and reducing material usage. Internal mezzanine suspended slabs were thoughtfully integrated to meet specific functional requirements. The design also featured a transfer podium positioned over the entire Coles compartment, showcasing our ability to create efficient and adaptable spaces.
