CABARITA

HHC Engineers undertook the prestigious Cabarita project, a magnificent 6-storey luxury home situated on a steep site overlooking the Parramatta River. The site's unique characteristics presented specific challenges that required expert engineering solutions to ensure a successful outcome.

With a site consisting of sandstone, the Cabarita project involved 4 levels of excavation from street level. Working closely with the geotechnical engineer we ensured proper stability while the vertical rock cutting was achieved. Given the presence of the water table, the design of the basement raft slab incorporated provisions to withstand hydrostatic pressure. This strategic design approach ensured the structural integrity of the basement, providing a robust foundation for the luxury home.

The project included the design of a stunning swimming pool, featuring anchors to the rock to counterbalance hydrostatic pressure. This innovative design solution ensured the pool's stability and longevity, while enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the property.

The Cabarita home boasts a full load-bearing structure, utilising a combination of Concrete and AFS walls. Additionally, we achieved the cantilevered design intent through the use of Post Tension slabs, optimising space and architectural design.

Through close collaboration with geotechnical experts and meticulous attention to detail, HHC Engineers successfully addressed the site challenges and implemented innovative solutions for the Cabarita project. Our focus on structural integrity, technical expertise, and architectural harmony has resulted in a remarkable 6-storey luxury home that perfectly blends with its natural surroundings while demonstrating distinction in engineering and design.
